Aug 25, 2009 Author Admin

As you may have noticed quite a few events have been popping up lately in the snowskating world for the month of January. In case you haven’t seen them all yet I thought i would post a rundown of them here. Of course it would be great to start you own event, big or small, to celebrate Go Snowskating Day this Saturday, January 16th! For more event info on the following, please see our facebook page.

On January 16th (GSSD!) Icon Snowskates is hosting a session in Uxbridge, MA. The park is located at 115 South Main Street Uxbridge, MA 01569. The session will begin at 11 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m. Team riders Matt & Jared Plays will be present, and Icon demo snowskates will be available to skate. Hope to see you there!

On January 23rd two events will be going down. Nick Stefani of Ambition Snowskates will be holding the “Stefani scrilla stacktown showdown aka operation paisley passion” at Whaleback Mountain in New Hampshire at 10:30am. Bring your friends, bring your snowskates and bring your skills. It will pretty much be a big old fun jam with maybe a winner or two and maybe some free ambition snowskate stuff.

Also on the 23rd will be the “Tribute & Snowskaters Demo in The Streets” where for one day only the City Of Nelson / Tribute Boardshop & Snowskaters.net have collaborated to bring you a rail jam style Event! From Victoria St. to Baker (ON WARD) there will be a rail park set up for all of you interested in checking out the urban side of snowboarding. Plus Jordan from snowskaters.net will be providing snowskates to demo and will be on hand to explain and demonstrate.

iSnowskate will hopefully be hosting a mini event on GSSD (TBA). Ambition has also yet to announce their plans on the day as well. Please send over any other upcoming snowskating events using the links at the bottom of the page. Thanks again to the snowskating community for just being plain awesome. Anyway, please try and get out and snowskate on the 16th in any way you can, have some fun out there!

Go Snowskating Day 2010!

Hey guys as you know tomorrow is the official Go Snowskating Day 2010! That means flock out to the white stuff with your boards and let the sessions begin! I will be out tomorrow night (not exactly sure when) near downtown Burlington, VT. Might hit up this little park I spotted yesterday and a sweet wooden 5 stair I spotted a few days ago. If anyone wants to meet up feel free to leave a comment here, on our facebook, or send a tweet @isnowskate and i’ll hit you back with the details.

Also Icon Snowskates has just released a new video contest for this glorious day! It’s a bit of a tough one as a list of pretty advanced tasks lies before you. Free goodies from Icon are the prize though, so if you can get this list accomplished (or at least mostly) you may be in for a treat. So grab that cam while your out tomorrow, find some new spots, and hit ‘em up. For full details on the contest click here.

Don’t forget some events going down on the day:

Icon Snowskates is hosting a session in Uxbridge, MA. The park is located at 115 South Main Street Uxbridge, MA 01569. The session will begin at 11 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m. Team riders Matt & Jared Plays will be present, and Icon demo snowskates will be available to skate. Hope to see you there!

Also head over to Crotched Mountain in south NH for a snowskate gathering with an (unofficial) photographer on hand if you want to grab some photos on the day.

If you can’t make those, make your own event with friends, or go out and kill some spots solo. All in all just get your board and get out there, promote this amazing sport we all love so much.

Stefani Scrilla Wrap, Fuse @ X Games

Aug 15, 2009 Author Admin
So I attended the first ever Stefani Scrilla Stacktown Showdown and it was awesome to say the least. Mix beautiful weather, a killer setup, good snow conditions, and amazing riders together and you get one sick event. The great people over at Whaleback Mountain in NH were super supportive and provided a slick ass “butter box”, grooming, and a nice little rail. The setup was three summer snowboarding ride in ramps. Ramp one had said butter box, ramp two was just a big ass kicker, and ramp three had the classic Stefani box. We rode up early and Nick Stefani, Josh Seguin, Rob Provost, and myself began setting up the features. I still haven’t received my new ambition this year so this was my first time riding an ambition (as Stefani had a few extras he brought along). Straight up amazing, seriously skip getting anything but new boards from ambition or icon, premiers officially suck compared to this. Anyway these guys all totally blew me out of the water and threw down some serious tricks. When it finally rolled around to the actual event time Alex Crowcroft, Rico Desjardins, and Benoit Quimper showed up and of course also totally killed the spot. Of course we had to hit up some other spots at and on the way back from Whaleback (catch ‘em in a future video) and after a full day of snowskating I was totally burnt out. I picked up a beat up CFT Smage (well I cracked the base on a shove off the big kicker on some hard snow) and even with the slight crack it STILL works better than my premier smage ‘08. All the guys were totally chill and the riding was so sick, check the new footy right here: Whaleback Stefani Scrilla Footy

Strapless, Yeti Jam, MWO/Optimist Wrap

Aug 1, 2009 Author Admin

So this past few weeks have been pretty eventful in the snowskating world. The pros at ambition and icon have been busy hitting up some of the major snowskating comps and now have the pictures to show for it. From the Midwest Open we thank Sarah McClellan for posting up a ton of awesome photos, and from the Optimist Demo we thank snowskater Guillaume Blais. Here’s a few highlights:

So apperently the Yeti Jam has also taken place this year already (guess I didn’t get the memo) but luckily we got some sick footy from the event to check out, here it is:

Finally Strapless Weekend is Coming Up in March, one of the most awesome bi-deck comps of the season! Be sure to head up to Hurricane Ridge Mtn, WA on March 27-28 for some awesome fun. Join the event on Facebook here:
Strapless Weekend 2010

Personally we just got hit with an awesome snow storm the other day and I had the best sesh’s of my 2010 season, sick line of 8 stair ledge grind straight into 5 stair ollie. Hope you guys are having as much fun out there! Keep snowskating!
