Shredding June Mountain!
I’m down in Cali at the moment filming new tutorials for the freestyle program.
Been riding a few days at Mammoth with Brian and Davi Miller, some local park monkeys and we randomly decided to duck over to June mountain (www.junemountain.com) to check it out.
When we first arrived I wasn’t sure what to expect. All you can see is a pretty ghetto 2 seater chair and an empty car-park.
Once we got up to the main resort I was quite surprised to find a bunch of ill freestyle terrain and the coolest thing is that the whole resort remained quiet all day.
We spent the whole bluebird day lapping the small and large parks and seshing the empty pipe.
If you want to progress your freestyle riding without getting snaked all day or the attitude of a crowded park then check out June.
I promise you wont be disappointed. I was highly impressed by the standard of the parks here.
Thanks to Abigail for hooking up the tickets.

Anyways, I’ve gotta peace out for now but be sure to check out http://www.mammothmountain.com/

We got a ton of new awesome videos which will be shared over in the video feed, but of course, the pros were all out and about as well. We wanted to feature those from Icon and Ambition who provided some awesome video from the event day. The ambition crew went up into the mountains of VT and shot some awesome powdery footy while the Icon crew skated at the Icon HQ Park:

Sarah’s Big Binder of Ski Teaching Geekery (and more!)
Last year when I was preparing for my L3 Part 1 Skiing exam, the Dev Team Diva turned me on to these great task descriptions developed by Bob Barnes for the PSIA Rocky Mountain Division (the Pocket Summaries listed under “Skiing” below). In my search for them online, I discovered lots of other valuable ski teaching resources tucked away on various PSIA divisional Web sites. So I printed them out, organized them into categories, and stuck them in a binder. The binder became an invaluable resource in discussions with my good friend and ski coach as I helped him to prepare for his Dev Team tryout and he coached me to success in my skiing exam. Fast forward to December. Pro Jam at Killington. Our friend O gets one look at my binder and asks to borrow it. Yeah, right! So he suggests that I post the contents here on our Ski Divas blog. And procrastinator that I am, he’s had to pester me about it ever since! So here you go, O! Listed below you will find the contents of my Big Binder of Ski Teaching Geekery, plus much, much more good stuff that I found as I was compiling all the links. I include resources geared to all certification levels for instructors that are aspiring to achieve those levels as well as for those who are coaching others in preparation for those levels. There’s a lot of other good stuff out there as well—poke around on the various divisional Web sites for other content that isn’t included here. Consider this list a work in progress; we will all add to it as we find more good stuff—and we are ALWAYS looking for more good stuff (!!!), so if you have found other helpful resources, please share them with us. NOTE: Some of this overlaps with what Jess posted last week, but I’ve got it organized a bit differently—by category rather than by division.
